Bob Taylor has been on staff at Rockford First for 11 years, serving in various capacities. He is currently involved in the area of Pastoral Care, that is, ministering and taking care of God’s people and the various needs at Rockford First. This includes teaching Bible classes, leading the mid-week adult service, hospital visitation, leading men’s prayer, pre-marital counseling and officiating weddings and funerals.
Although born in Roseburg, Oregon, Bob is a true midwestern boy, having grown up in Ontario, Wisconsin. He and his wife Carol have been married for 36 years, and have one daughter, Stephanie Johnson, who is 25 years old.
Bob holds a degree in Pastoral Studies from North Central University, and has held pastoral positions in Assembly of God churches in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Janesville, Racine, and Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Bob’s desire is for people to be encouraged in the Lord and taught the Word of God, and his position at Rockford First has allowed him to see growth in ministry and lives being changed. His heart and goal at Rockford First is to love, teach, and mentor Christians and new believers to their full potential in their walk with the Lord.
